I respect journalists so much that I would never have the audacity to call myself one. I’ve covered cultural events, interviewed people I admire and written op-eds, all with the understanding that I am being allowed admittance to their exclusive club less for my abilities and more for the amount of eyeballs something I write may reach, given the serendipitous popularity of my blog. I dream of one day being able to call myself a journalist without a hint of irony or guilt, to make a career out of so noble a profession.
