The xyloaphonist is a great addition to The Dodos lineup. I have never seen somebody bow the xylophone either, and I really like the sound. Good song. Good band.

'Reading Rainbow' Reaches Its Final Chapter →

The show’s run is ending, Grant explains, because no one — not the station, not PBS, not the Corporation for Public Broadcasting — will put up the several hundred thousand dollars needed to renew the show’s broadcast rights.
Grant says the funding crunch is partially to blame, but the decision to end Reading Rainbow can also be traced to a shift in the philosophy of...

so there are now:
codysmusic.tumblr which is songs, nothing you haven’t heard yet, and because tumblr only lets you post one song a day it is currently only one song
codysart.tumblr which is pictures and drawings, nothing i...

– Apparently this is an African proverb. Hate to attribute content to a whole continent, but I tried to get something more specific + couldn’t.

So far, David Lynch’s Intervew Project has been nothing short of spectacular. I have been consistently amazed by the calm, nuanced, thoughtful feel of the series. This most recent interview however stands out as a gem. The Calloways steal the show, and force the crew to rewrite their interview template and adjust. There are some really magical moments in this one.

I watched that last night and I really liked it.

I too watched and really enjoyed Patton’s special last night. The routine about sky cake was the best.

– It’s funny, but I don’t care any more. Just like the song says. Everything we joked about keeps getting confirmed—all the seedy crap that we knew was going on but still seemed too audacious to be really going on, brazenly marched before out faces. Forget it, let’s just all...

This sounds awesome!
mrgan:
When Andy Baio first told me about his idea for the just-released Kind of Bloop album, an 8-bit re-imagining of Miles Davis’ jazz masterpiece, he didn’t even need to finish describing it before I let out a hungry ‘yesssss’. But even so, I had reasonable expectations; what these folks delivered yesterday is, it turns out, unreasonably good.
It all opens with...
